AN ACCLAIMED group of North West-based singers will perform at Wrexham's iconic St Giles' Church later this month.

The Vale of Clwyd Singers, who are comprised of 18 professional and trained amateur voices from North Wales, Chester, Liverpool and the Wirral, will be in concert at the venue on Saturday, April 13.

The concert will celebrate Easter, includes the last section of Handel's Messiah in the second half, a performance of the music composed by Henry Purcell for the funeral of Queen Mary and a rousing performance of "Zadok the Priest", Handel's famous Coronation Anthem.

The Vale of Clwyd Singers' accompanist is the remarkably talented organist and composer John Hosking.

Tickets for the event cost £12 and can be purchased online via, by telephone 01352 701521 or on the door on the night.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and there will be refreshments available during the interval.
