A COASTGUARD team was called out following reports of a red flare sighting in Flintshire.
The Flint Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked by UK Coastguard shortly after 1.20am on Wednesday morning to investigate sightings of a red flare in the Mostyn area following a 999 call.
A coastguard spokesman said: "Team search thoroughly from Ffynnongroyw to Greenfield with nothing untoward found.
"Holyhead CGOC (Coastguard Operations Centre) updated and team stood down, call with good intent.
"Please remember, in a coastal emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
