AWARD-WINNING Welsh film director Kevin Allen will appear at an 'in conversation' event at this year's FOCUS Wales music festival.

FOCUS Wales has become Wales’ biggest music industry event, with three days of panels and keynote talks and this year the festival will see over 250 music industry professional delegates descend upon Wrexham from around the world.

This year’s conference topics will include three panel sessions presented by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) and Performing Right Society for Music (PRS). These panels will explore copyright, signing new artists and selling records for indie labels in the 21st century and film and TV music, with the latter seeing movie music composer Mark Thomas join Allen in conversation.

The award winning film-makers have worked together on all of Allen’s movie and TV projects since collaborating on the director's debut cult classic Twin Town. Since then they have also worked on the critically acclaimed film version of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2015 Oscars

The Swansea born director will also present the awards for best short films at the brand new FOCUS Wales Film Festival, which takes place during the main festival on Saturday May 18.

FOCUS Wales takes place on May 16, 17, 18 across various venues in Wrexham Town Centre. Passes for all three days of the festival and conference are available now from www.focuswales.com/tickets
