A COMMUNITY football club in a Wrexham village has caught national attention wth the visit of a TV crew.

FC Cymru the official TV blog for the Football Association of Wales paid a visit to Brymbo Lodge YFC at their Solway Banks home in the build up to the international friendly between Wales and Trinadad and Tobago in Wrexham.

On the night they dropped in to see the Brymbo Lodge under 12s and under 13s boys teams, the under 12 girls and mini girls sections who were all training and ready to display there skills for the cameras.

Coach Kieran Howard said: "It's great to have the guys up here for the second time in three years giving us great exposure of what we are and what we have to offer the community.

"The guys filmed all age groups and pulled some kids to one side to get some information on the club and what it offers.

"They also pulled me to one side and wanted to know what it takes to to be a Silver accredited club, what it take to be regional club winners in the community awards and what we do at the club."

He added: "The kids really enjoyed the experience as it is their 15 minutes of fame and they feel like superstars which they all are.

"It's again massive exposure for us at the club and shows how much of a community club we are and the hard work that goes into its running from our dedicated team of volunteers and parents."
