A LOCAL salon has celebrated its achievements after being open just six months.

ME Hairdressing, in Connah's Quay, has made it through to the finals of the Blow Dry awards and the semi-finals of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy.

Salon Owner Amie Mitchell said this is a massive achievement for a salon as it is a huge competition in the industry.

During the first round, hundreds of photographic images from across the country were judged by influential names in hairdressing such as Charles Worthington MBE and Sally Brooks - British Hairdresser of the Year.

The next stage of the competition will see the team create a complementary colour showcasing a male look which must be complemented by a well finished style, taking inspiration from upcoming trends.

Aime said: "We are overwhelmed that we have got through to the semi-finals of one of the industries biggest competitions. Our passion is hair and things creative."

The team will go head to head with salons in the area at the North West Regional event to be held on Tuesday, April 2 at Camp and Furnace in Liverpool.
