DELYN MP David Hanson has pledged his support for a global environment event.

He is one of more than a hundred MPs who have added their voice for Earth Hour, the world’s largest annual event to protect the planet.

Mr Hanson said: “Earth Hour gives a voice to people everywhere who want to raise awareness of some of the biggest environmental challenges we are facing.

"I hope that by adding my voice for the planet I can encourage my constituents to do the same.

“Delyn is at the forefront of the UK’s battle against climate change with many businesses in the local area focused on low-carbon renewable energy. "Mostyn is the home of some of the best engineers in the world for repairing and installing offshore wind technology and I hope that we can continue to support it, so the area can go from strength to strength.

“Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet and it is our duty to make changes to our lifestyles to shrink our carbon footprint.”

The Leader also reported earlier how Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami announced his support for the event.
