A CHARITY has launched an initiative to provide advice to rural communities across Flintshire.

The project, run by Citizens Advice Flintshire (CAF) and Cadwyn Clwyd, will promote the use of digital services with staff available to respond to requests for help via email and other digital platforms.

An information session will be held on March 28 at Mostyn Community Centre at 10am to 1pm.

Jo Smith, project lead, said: "As a county we have a lot of people in rural locations and access to our offices can often be an issue for them.

"A phone call can cover a lot of what we offer but, as modern office environments and departments increasingly rely on the use of technology to transfer documents and information quickly.

"We want to extend this facility to our rural clients and help them resolve issues as soon as possible."

Further sessions will be held at the Carmel Village Hall on March 24 at 10am to 1pm and in the Trelawnyd area with details yet to be confirmed.

The sessions are open to anyone interested in accessing the Citizens Advice service without travelling in person to an office.

It will explain how people can remotely access help and how Coleg Cambria will deliver training to familiarise them with using the digital services.

Jo added: "Coleg Cambria will be supporting us by delivering a basic introduction to digital services and how to access them from your home.

"Our sessions are aimed at people who want to know a bit more about how the project works and how it will directly benefit them in their community.

"The 30-minute information session will be followed by a Citizens Advice surgery, where people can get help and advice on the day."
