RESIDENTS are warned of faulty traffic lights on to a busy road in Flintshire.

The traffic lights exiting Higher Common Road onto the crossroads on Liverpool Road in Buckley are being skipped, either changing very slowly or not at all.

Motorists are urged to avoid the road if possible, as the junction leads on to a very busy and potentially hazardous road.

Dangers to schoolchildren and general pedestrians also result from the faulty lights, with the Elfed High School and Roseneath Medical Practice being within the immediate vicinity.

Steve Jones, Flintshire County Council's chief officer for Streetscene and transportation, said: "Flintshire Streetscene is aware of the problem with the lights at Higher Common Rd in Buckley.

"This issue requires support from a specialist contractor and the fault is expected to be resolved later this week."
