A MAN who caused a disturbance at a Wrexham hotel bar after a session with a banned drinker has been fined £100.

Assistant manager Samantha McDonald asked Graham Miller to leave the bar at the Wynnstay Arms Hotel, prosecutor Rhian Jones told magistrates.

The staff member then saw Miller sitting with his feet up and she told him he was drinking with a person who had been banned from the hotel.

When she said she would call police he became aggressive and started swearing.

He told her staff had served them drinks, despite his drinking partner's exclusion status.

Miller, 34, Tan Y Dre, Wrexham, admitted threatening behaviour at the Wynnstay Arms Hotel on February 4.

As well as the fine he was told to pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £30.

Bethan Jones, defending at North East Wales Magistrates Court at Mold, said Miller recently lost his father and had taken the bereavement badly.

“There was a football match that day that he and his Dad used to watch on a regular basis.

"He was distressed going out and although he behaved for part of the evening a third party joined in who was on the ‘Pubwatch’ list,” said Ms Jones.

“He accepts that his language was inappropriate.”
