HALF TERM visitors to Ty Mawr Country Park have been making the most of the warm weather, by creating micro greenhouses.

Rangers at the Country Park have been showing children and adults alike how to make the tiny terrariums, using nothing but old milk bottles.

Closed terraria like this create a unique environment for plant growth, as the transparent walls allow for both heat and light to enter the terrarium.

After the assembly, the bottles are decorated and native wildflower seeds are planted inside, just in time for the spring.

Park ranger, Alison Whitley, said: "It's been really good, plenty of people have been coming through.

"The park has been really busy, I think people enjoying the weather mostly, but we've had a good constant stream of people.

"Everyone's got smiles on their faces. Lots of little ones have been taking part, and plenty of the adults have been helping out too. It's been really good."
