A CARE service in Broughton spread some St David’s Day joy this morning with hand-delivered flowers.

Staff from Blue Bird Care, based in Gladstone House on Main Street, were out across Flintshire since 7am on Friday, March 1 delivering bunches of daffodils along with their usual care to celebrate St David’s Day.

Rebecca Zartarian, business manager for Blue Bird, said: “We deliver care to a lot of people across Flintshire and thought that, because some people we see are at home alone and won’t have many visitors, it would be a nice way to give them that extra bit of love on St David’s Day.

“It has created a really nice buzz around the office today as we always look for ways to go beyond delivering our expected standard of care. We know that these small gestures will be really appreciated by our customers.”

Rebecca added that it was a nice idea by the other carers to go above and beyond the day-to-day care that people would expect. The team have also found a way to help other parts of the Broughton community through this kind act.

She said: “We have supported our local Co-op right next door by purchasing the Welsh daffodils which, with our membership card, also supports the local community centre in Broughton.”
