A THEATRE group has been collaborating with musical stars who appeared on Britain's Got Talent.

The Theatretrain Regional Choir draws members from Wrexham, Flintshire and Cheshire who meet every Thursday evening at The Daniel Owen Centre in Mold to expand their repertoire and rehearse for their upcoming performances.

They have just travelled to The Lyceum Theatre in Crewe to perform with musical theatre group, Collabro.

Collabro are the world’s most successful musical theatre group who, in 2014, met for their first rehearsal above a pub in London and just a month later went on to rouse the whole of Hammersmith Apollo into a standing ovation during their first ever public performance of ‘Stars’ for the Britain’s Got Talent judges.

Having triumphed in their semi-final heat with more than 63 per cent of the votes, they then won the overall competition with one of the biggest majorities ever.

This led to them joining Simon Cowell’s label Syco, and becoming label-mates with the likes of One Direction, Little Mix, Susan Boyle and Il Divo.

The choir has performed at many charity events, including at The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.

Members were delighted to have the opportunity to sing alongside Collabro as part of their current UK tour. The children sang 'Electricity' from the musical Billy Elliott and 'Faithfully' by Journey with the group..

The choir is now preparing for their next appearances which include a performance at this year's Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Theatretrain's Greatest Hits show at Theatr Clwyd in June and Wrexham's Singing Streets later in the year.

"New members are always welcome to join us on Thursday evenings" said Theatretrain's artistic director, Steve Davies.
