WREXHAM County Borough Council are urging Welsh filmmakers to submit work for a brand new national flim festival

FOCUS Wales Film Festival will take place on Saturday May, 18, at the Grove Park Theatre in Wrexham – supported by Ffilm Cymru and 73 Degree Films.

The festival will offer an array of film screenings and events alongside the usual music showcase and conference programme.

As part of this day filmmakers across Wales are being urged to submit their work for the first ever FOCUS Wales Short Film Award.

In a statement on Wrexham County Borough Council’s website, they have said:

“This will offer opportunities for filmmakers, both from Wales and internationally, to submit their work for screenings and awards in a high-quality showcase environment.

“FOCUS Wales wristband holders will be able to attend the film festival at no additional cost and film festival-only tickets are also available.

“In this inaugural year of the festival, awards will be offered in 2 categories; Best Welsh Short Film and Best International Short Film.

“All scripted and non-scripted films under 15 minutes in length will be considered, including documentaries.

“Student discounts are available and anyone whose work is selected for screening will receive their film festival pass completely free.

“Applications close at midnight on March 24, 2019.
