A TOP jazz band is to play in Mold later this year.

World-renowned jazz club Ronnie Scott’s is celebrating its 60th birthday in 2019.

To celebrate, the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars are going on tour around the country.

The 17 date tour will run until November 2019 and on March 22 the band will be playing at Theatr Clwyd.

The 2019 Ronnie Scott’s All Stars tour is part of the year long anniversary celebrations which will culminate in a special anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall in October, tickets for which will go on sale in the spring.

On their regional tour, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars will unveil a brand new show which will take audience members on a journey through the last 60 years of jazz music, exploring the stories and music behind London’s most iconic jazz club.

The All Stars will be led by virtuoso composer and Ronnie Scott’s resident musical director James Pearson, who has garnered international recognition for his work on the scores of Calendar Girls, Beyond The Sea and the remake of Alfie.

James has also arranged numerous ensembles, notably the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Big Band.
