ST DAVID’s Day is fast approaching, and to celebrate, Wrexham County Borough Council have announced a parade.

In association with Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam, Wrexham Council has organised a procession to take place on Friday, March, 1.

The parade will assemble outside the Guildhall from 12.45pm, before starting at 1pm, led by the Cambria Band.

This year, the parade will make its way to Tŷ Pawb where there will be fun for all of the family!

From 10am, there will be Welsh Produce stalls, children’s craft, live entertainment and a memory lane cinema showing Superted and Wil Cwac Cwac.

Gill Stephen, Chief Officer of Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam, said; “There is a warm welcome for people of all ages to join in the fun again this year, whether they are Welsh speakers or not.

“This extremely popular event is an opportunity for everyone in Wrexham to celebrate the Welsh identity of the town.”

Cllr Andy Williams, Mayor of Wrexham said; “The annual St David’s Day Parade has always proven a very popular event in the heart of Wrexham and we don’t expect this year’s celebrations to be an exception.

“I’d like to thank Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam and officers at Wrexham Council for the work they put into this event, and extend a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to take part.”

These celebrations are a part of numerous events that will take place across Wales to celebrate the Patron Saint’s Day, and the council are urging people to use #DewiWrecsam on social media for information and to follow the event throughout the day.
