A LOCAL café will feature in the finals of a regional competition.

Wrexham Museum’s Courtyard Café will be competing for the top prize in a ‘bake off’ style final of the North East Wales Year of Discovery 2019 tournament in Deeside.

The competition takes place annually and aims to raise awareness of the great food scene in the region, while supporting local dine-in eateries during a traditionally ‘quiet’ period in the year.

The event will take place on Monday, February, 25, as the two highest scoring dishes from each category will take part in a cook-off with the winner claiming prizes a stand at the Wrexham Food & Drink Festival in September.

Wrexham County Borough Council have offered their support to the local café in a statement on their website.

“Huge congratulations to Wrexham Museum’s Courtyard Cafe!

“Their delicious entry is called ‘Heaven on Earth’.

It’s just as good as it looks and it’s made using a variety of locally sourced food and ingredients. if you haven’t tried it yet then this is a very good reason to pop along to the courtyard cafe and treat yourself!

“The proof is in the pudding as they say, best of luck to them!”
