A WOMAN was attacked as she walked alone in a Flintshire town.

Claire Lloyd was assaulted in Flint after being ambushed in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

As Miss Lloyd made her way through the Marsh Lane area, a man reportedly jumped her before punching her in the stomach and face.

Thankfully Miss Lloyd managed to fight off her attacker before any further injuries were sustained.

Police have now launched an investigation into the attack.

The alleged perpetrator is described as a male, about 5ft 10 in tall, with stubble and having a bruised/cut face.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: "We were called on February 17 at 9.15am to reports of an alleged assault in Flint that took place during the early hours of Saturday.

"The victim suffered minor injuries. Enquiries are now underway into the incident."
