A THIEF broke into cars in Flintshire over the weekend and left each vehicle in a highly unusual state.

The cars targeted were in the Nant Mawr, Fraser Drive and Farm Road areas of Buckley during the early hours of Saturday, police said.

It is thought that a number of cars in Buckley were tried, and the thief made their way into at least three vehicles which had been left unlocked.

While it was mostly only loose change that was taken, one of the items included a satnav. But, bizarrely, the alleged perpetrator is reported to have taken the handbrake off on all three cars, with them subsequently rolling back off the driveway and into the middle of the road.

Another strange instance involved the only thing removed being the car's cigarette lighter, which was seperated from its plug.

A police spokesman said: "We were called on Saturday to reports of cars in the Nant Mawr and Fraser Drive areas being broken into.

"The handbrake on the vehicles was taken off, leading to them rolling into the road. We are now making enquiries."
