SELF-employed roofing contracted Matthew David Mills has been fined
£500 for breaching a restraining order by approaching his former partner, the mother of his son.
Mills, of Coronation Drive in Chirk, admitted that he sent messages to Toya Edwards at Gwersyllt near Wrexham in the early hours of December 2.
At North East Wales Magistrates Court he appeared from custody where he was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.
Prosecutor Justin Espie said in interview Mills admitted sending them.
Laura Preston-Hayes, defending, told the Mold court Mills accepted sending the messages but she said the couple had been meeting up at a family centre once a week so that he could have contact with his 10-month-old son.
She alleged that Mills had hundreds of messages on his phone from Miss Edwards.
Mills said he had agreed to meet her despite the order because he wanted to ensure that his son had a dad.
Magistrates said that by meeting her he was putting himself at risk of further charges and said he should take advice.
It was stressed that the charge related to the messages that he had sent and he had not had any other contact.
