A BINGO club in Holywell has made a ‘desperate’ appeal for spare chairs.
Councillor Rosetta Dolphin has asked for people to donate anything that can be used to the group on behalf of her friend Sheena Wallbanks, who has run the group every Friday for the last 15 years.
She said: “The group are in desperate need of some new seats because they are literally falling apart. One lady had her chair completely collapse during a game a few days ago.”
Cllr Dolphin has said that the centre, in School Lane, ideally needs around 70 new chairs.
The mayor added: “Most of those who attend are pensioners and, for them, this is a way to socialise may be the only time they go out all week.
“It would be great if any residents or any businesses who are about to throw away some old chairs with would kindly consider donating them to the community centre.”
