A BAND who played a show in Wrexham have had a piece of their gear stolen following the gig.

Seazoo, a Welsh band performed at Ty Pawb on Saturday, but discovered afterwards that their bass amplifier had been stolen.

The ‘indie-pop’ group have been touring around Wales raising money to travel to the USA for a festival, and lead singer and guitarist Ben Trow says that this has come at the worst possible time.

“We’re currently playing UK dates in order raise funds before we fly out to Texas for the SXSW festival and this was the last thing we needed.

“The police are dealing with it and are looking at the CCTV footage from the venue, so fingers crossed the person can be identified but more importantly the amp can be returned.”

The group has been announced as part of the lineup for FOCUS Wales in May, and have been pleading across social media for anybody with any information as to the whereabouts of their equipment to get in touch with them.

Wrexham residents, as well as various musicians have helped the appeal by sharing it on social media.

Mr Trow says the amp is a big loss for the group, but has praised the reaction they’ve had online.

“It’s a blow because it’s really hard to make any kind of money making original music, and everything that we do make goes straight back into the band. This bit of equipment will be hard to replace as it’s a limited edition and is now discontinued.

“The social media reaction has been overwhelming. It’s been shared hundreds of times on Facebook and Twitter, BBC 6 Music DJs have helped, even Matt Allwright from BBC Watchdog has got in touch.”
