A SECONDARY school is celebrating after obtaining a second minibus.

Castell Alun in Hope now has the vehicle mainly due to a £5000 contribution made by the Castell Alun Friends’ Association (CAFA).

The school took ownership of the new minibus just before Christmas.

"It has already been used to facilitate a great variety of trips for students and is a most welcome addition to school life.

Paula Williams, acting headteacher, said: “We are so grateful to our friends in CAFA for all of their support and really hard work.

"We now run two school minibuses, which allows us to provide far greater flexibility as we constantly seek to enhance students’ learning experiences.”

CAFA has recently raised monies though events and initiatives such as a festive fair and pamper evening, a fashion and fizz show, a regular lottery draw, recycling projects and a Christmas markets trip.

Further information on how to become involved with CAFA, or to support their work, is available on the Castell Alun High School website.
