THE inquest into the death of former Welsh Assembly member Carl Sargeant will reopen in the summer, it has been confirmed.
The inquest is listed to restart on Monday, July 8 and is expected to last for five days.
It will be heard by John Gittins, coroner for North Wales (east and central) at County Hall in Ruthin.
The hearing was adjourned on November 30 last year.
Neil Hudgell, of Hudgell Solicitors, represents the Sargeant family.
He said: “We’re grateful to the coroner for his careful consideration of all matters to date.
"Even though the inquest is some time away, it is very important for the Sargeant family to have a date set.
"They continue to hope that the inquest will allow them some much needed answers about the circumstances surrounding Carl’s untimely and tragic death.”
The firm has instructed leading inquest counsel Leslie Thomas QC of Garden Court Chambers.
