Martial artists who opened their doors for free lessons to promote positive mental health.
Joanne and Tom Evans who own the Seishin Ryu Ju Jitsu club offered free lessons through January.
Owner Joanne said they have had an “absolutely fantastic response from individuals and families wanting to get fitter and do things together.”
Mrs Evans said the sessions have helped boost confidence for people with previous negative experiences.
Since starting this positive initiative, Sychdyn primary school has invited the club owners to talk on self defence and martial arts.
Current members - who were offered free sessions - continued to pay, with the club deciding to donate this money to Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Mold, with the hope that it’ll go towards a camping trip for underprivileged children.
Mrs Evans added that the idea has created “fantastic positivity for January.”
They would like to do more to support the community and are hoping to start a kids club later in the year.
