FLINTSHIRE schools face electricity and water problems as temperatures continue to fall.
Hawarden saw temperatures plunge to about -7 degrees on Thursday morning following heavy snow the previous day.
Flintshire Council confirmed the full closure of three schools on Thursday morning.
These include Ysgol Terrig and Ysgol Parc y Llan in Treuddyn due to a burst water pipe, as well as Ysgol Croes Atti in Shotton due to a lack of electricity.
A spokesman for North Wales Police urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, adding: "Icy conditions across the region with the yellow warning from the Met Office still in place.
"Please drive safely, adjust your speed and stay safe."
The yellow warning of ice came into effect on Wednesday evening and is in place until 10am on Thursday.
A separate warning of snow and ice affecting most of North Wales comes into effect at 1pm on Thursday and lasts until 9pm on Friday.
