A COMMITTEE leading the enquiry into the management of the Llantysilio Mountain fire last summer will hold an evidence gathering meeting with the public.
Denbighshire County Council's (DCC) communities scrutiny committee is currently investigating the fire in Llantysilio, near Llangollen, which lasted more than a month and devastated 60 acres of grassland.
Emergency service and NRW chiefs were criticised by nearby residents and business owners who said the blaze could have been extinguished within 10 days, had the authorities been willing to accept offers of help from nearby farmers.
The scrutiny committee will hold a morning and afternoon evidence gathering meeting in March in which the public will be able to help the enquiry.
A DCC spokesperson said: "It's aim is to understand what happened and learn lessons from the event in a bid to improve the management of similar incidents in future and minimise the disruption caused to nearby communities and businesses.
"The committee would like to hear from individuals affected by the fire about their experiences during this time and the impact it has had on them, their business or community since."
The meeting will be held at the International Pavilion on Abbey Road in Llangollen at 10am on Wednesday, March 20.
