AN actress from Flintshire has taken home a National Television Award.

Sian Gibson picked up the award for ‘Best Comedy’ for Peter Kay’s Car Share in which she co-stars.

The Mold-born actress played promotions rep Kayleigh Kitson on Kay’s hit TV show which focuses on the pair’s ‘car share’ scheme in John Redmond (Kay’s) Fiat 500L.

Sian, who was part of Theatr Clwyd’s youth theatre, collected the award on Tuesday night without Peter Kay, who continues to be out of the public eye due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances’.

But Sian, 42, has teased an upcoming project with Peter after the pair were last seen driving off in the finale earlier this year.

This would be the first project for Kay since he cancelled his major UK tour after citing personal reasons early last year.

Speaking to The Sun she said: “I was with Peter the other day and we have got something in the pipeline. There are things to think about.”

Sian, who has previously had a small role in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights after the pair met as students at the University of Salford, was working in the Card One Banking call centre in Chester when she was sent the script for the award-winning show.

She has since appeared in comedies with Catherine Tate and The League of Gentlemen.
