Residents in Holywell may be without water as work to fix a burst pipe continues.

Welsh Water engineers were working to fix a pair of burst pipes on Saturday - one of which was located in Aston Road in Queensferry and the other in Rhosesmor.

The Aston road pipe - which affected homes in Sandycroft, Shotton, Queensferry, Acton, Mancot and Deeside - is now fixed, as is the Rhosesmor pipe which affected residents in the Halkyn area.

But Welsh Water stated on Sunday morning that work is ongoing to fix a pipe in Pentre Halkyn.

A spokesman said: "We're really sorry that your water may be off in the Pentre Halkyn area of Holywell.

"We're working hard to fix a burst pipe and we'll get your water back on by early this afternoon.

"When the water supply is restored some customers may notice some discolouration of their tap water, this is normal in this situation and the water should clear when run from a cold tap.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
