A 28-YEAR-old man who met a mum through the Plenty of Fish dating website, and didn’t tell her he was a convicted sex offender, was jailed for nine months.
Tyrone Bevan, of Castle Park industrial estate, Flint, North Wales, but who had stayed with her at Dolgellau, had been jailed in 2011 for sex with a girl of 13. He’d changed his surname from Sears since then, prosecutor Ryan Rothwell said.
Caernarfon crown court heard it was his fifth breach of an order to notify police of where he was living, as a sex offender. He admitted failing to comply.
Sarah Yates, defending, said: "It was a foolish decision and he needs to learn his lesson.”
He hoped to continue the relationship.
Judge Huw Rees told Bevan: "It would have been quite simple to follow the advice and simply tell the police where you were.”
