AN ANNUAL town festival brought some light to pierce the winter gloom.
Mold's Festival of Light took place on Sunday and from afternoon into evening saw a mix of live entertainment, story-telling, and lantern making followed by a procession.
A free event, the idea behind it is that while January can often be a dark and quiet month following the festive season, this festival brings some magic to the town.

It began with the lantern making workshop in St Mary's Church Hall, King Street, followed by the procession from the Church Hall to St Mary's Church, High Street Mold.
The lantern parade was led by the Cambria Band and inside the church there was further live entertainment.
The festival is organised by a small group of volunteers from Cittaslow Mold, Menter Iaith Sir y Fflint and Mold Town Council.
Donations received at the event are to be used for further events at Bailey Hill.
