BALACLAVA-cladded men tried to break into Deeside houses, police have said.

The three masked men unsuccessfully attempted to break into properties in the Carlines Park area of Ewloe in the early hours of Monday.

Upon hearing a noise outside, a concerned resident looked out of her window to see the perpetrators attempting to force their way into her house.

The men then moved to a nearby property and again unsuccessfully attempted to force entry.

The men have been linked to burglaries in the Wrexham area on the same evening.

Police are now appealing for information to track a Renault Kangoo which they believe is linked to the perpetrators.

South Flintshire Police Sgt Neil Hughes said: “We received reports of attempted burglary in the Carlines Park area of Ewloe at 3.30am on Monday.

“A resident saw people attempted to force their way into her house, of which we believe they targeted as there is a high value car on the property.

“They were later seen going into a neighbour’s drive but were unsuccessful in both attempts.”
