AN INVESTIGATION has been launched to find the cause of a house blaze, which was confined mainly to the thatched roof of the property.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to a report of a fire at an address on Ffordd Pen y Bryn, Nercwys shortly before 10pm on Tuesday.
Four crews attended the incident, two from Deeside and one from Mold and Buckley.
The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "The thatched roof was well alight on the arrival of fire crews and a man in his 50s had already made his way out of the property.
"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
"The majority of the thatched roof was damaged in the incident.
"Residents with thatched roofs are advised to ensure their property has appropriate chimney insulation, to have the chimney inspected by a qualified chimney engineer and to consider a chimney spark arrestor.
"It is also important to have smoke alarms installed throughout the home with an interlinked alarm in the loft space."
Ffordd Pen-Y-Bryn has been closed to traffic while firefighters remain at the scene today.
