WREXHAM producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Art School Girlfriend has released details of her upcoming UK tour.

The 2019 tour spans eight cities across the UK, finishing at London’s Omeara and follows a performance at next year’s SXSW music festival in Athens, Texas.

Two months ago, Art School Girlfriend, whose real name is Polly Mackey, released her second EP, Into The Blue Hour, a collection of sparse electronic music inspired by her move away from south London’s arts scene to the burgeoning creative community in the seaside town of Margate which she now calls home.

Since its release, Mackey has spent time touring with The Japanese House, DJing for Anna Calvi at her Heaven show, running her monthly show on Radio Margate and performing alongside Orlando Weeks, of The Maccabees, at London’s Union Chapel and Manchester’s Albert Hall.

Into The Blue Hour saw Art School Girlfriend build on the blueprints of her earlier Measures EP and expand her toolkit as an electronic producer. Offering their own take on EP tracks, a blissful ambient mix of Low was recently shared by Babeheaven, while The Horrors’ Tom Furse released his interpretation of beat-driven lead single Distance (Blank). All remixes are available alongside the EP on all streaming services.

Art School Girlfriend plays the following dates in April at Bristol, Louisiana (April 2), Leicester, Cookie (April 3), Leeds, Hyde Park Book Club (April 4), Newcastle, Cluny (April 5), Glasgow, Hug & Pint (April 6), Manchester, Soup Kitchen (April 7), Birmingham, Hare & Hounds (April 9), London, Omeara (April 10).
