WREXHAM-BASED company Net World Sports has helped bring some festive cheer to sports clubs across the region after donating hundreds of pieces of equipment to good causes.

The sports company, who are housed on Wrexham Industrial Estate has been supporting local football clubs and charity initiatives throughout the course of the year, providing products for raffle prizes and donating training equipment for charity tournaments. Among the groups to have benefited from the firm’s generosity are the likes of newly formed Overton Youth FC, XPO Logistics to support their charity day, and Wrexham- based Your Space, who all received the company’s bestselling FORZA football goal posts.

With clubs and charities across the country reaching out to see if the sports company can help them, Net World Sports even donated 50 of their Captain’s Armbands to Cancer Research UK for their 20th London Celebrity Sports Quiz. This is the second consecutive year that Net World Sports has supported the national charity that carries out scientific research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Emily Strickland, marketing manager at Net World Sports said: “Christmas is a time for celebration, but it’s also a time for reflection. We always like to support local whenever we can and over the past twelve months have made numerous donations to sports clubs and charities across the region.

“Of course, as a growing company it is always difficult to respond to all requests, but we try our best whenever we can and also offer discounts on products when clubs are struggling with budgets. As we look ahead to the new year, we will continue supporting where we can and have built some fantastic relationships with local clubs that we will continue to nurture throughout 2019 and beyond.”

Internally the retailer have also supported individual members of staff with their personal charity initiatives, such as inbound enquiry assistant Sophie Lindsay’s challenge to run 5k a day throughout April to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice and Hope House Children’s Hospice, as well as marketing executive Matt Jones’ attempt to grow a moustache for Movember.

The company has also taken part in national charity days, raising more than £140 for Macmillan Cancer’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and more than £65 for Save The Children’s recent Christmas Jumper Day.
