A MAN was trapped after his van overturned on the A55 near Chester.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene close to Huntington shortly after midnight on Wednesday, December 19.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters attended the scene and found that one man was trapped in a van which had overturned on the carriageway.
"The team used specialist cutting equipment to release the casualty and he was passed to the care of paramedics.
"Crews were detained at the scene for approximately one hour ten minutes."
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said the man was "conscious and breathing" when paramedics arrived.
He was taken to Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. No further details are available on his condition.
