LLANDUDNO’s inshore lifeboat, the Dr Barbara Saunderson, has returned to service following a scheduled refit.

The lifeboat had been taken to RNLI's Inshore Lifeboat Centre at Cowes, Isle of Wight.

It was first placed on service at Llandudno in April 2016 and has been launched on service more than 50 times since then. It is able to be launched within minutes from several different sites in the area. It was involved in saving a life in Colwyn Bay earlier this year.

The boat was bought out of a legacy from the late Dr Barbara Saunderson, and is the third such boat funded by the legacy.

Llandudno's Lifeboat crews for both the all weather boat, the William F Yates, and the Dr Barbara Saunderson, will be available for rescues 24 hours a day throughout the festive period.

The Lifeboat Station at Craig-y-Don will be open to the public during the Christmas Holiday, visitors will be very welcome on the December 27, 28 and 29 between 1.00pm and 4.00pm.
