A SPECIAL dedication ceremony has taken place at a Wrexham cemetery.

A memorial stone has been placed at the Infant Section of the Plas Acton Cemetery to mark a special place for parents who have lost their babies.

Jane Marshall, chaplain at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, spoke at the dedication which was attended by parents and Gwersyllt East and South councillor David Griffiths as the local member.

The Stone reads:

“For all our babies

So dearly loved

So briefly known”

The stone was donated by Peter Morris Funeral Directors of Mold and made by Morris Granite of Denbigh.

Cllr David A Bithell, Wrexham Council’s lead member for the environment and transport, said: “I would like to thank Peter Morris Funeral Directors for their very kind and considerate donation.

“This area of the cemetery is reserved for babies and infants and it’s very important that their parents and relatives have a special place to come and remember their young ones.”
