A MOTHER and her two children have donated to the Leader’s toy appeal to spread some joy this Christmas.

Evie Hughes, 9, and her younger brother Joshua, 6, were told they could choose one present each which will be given to a child who may otherwise receive none this Christmas.

The family brought the presents into the team at the Mold office on Tuesday afternoon and Evie told the Leader: “It was real fun and it makes you feel good and happy.”

The Leader has joined forces with the charity North Wales Superkids to gather gifts for children which will be given out to families in need.

Catherine Hughes, of Alltami, said it was important for her to teach her children about those who often go without.

She said: “When we went shopping we explained to the children about others being less fortunate than them and that it would be nice for them to choose presents to donate.

“They chose one present each which they enjoyed doing.

“You put yourself in that situation and it makes you grateful and that is what I explained to these two, they are very lucky.

“I just think it is fantastic what you have done and it will make some children very happy.”
