Residents braved the rain and took to the roads to give their village a bit of a clean up ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Armed with litter pickers and wearing fluorescent jackets courtesy of the Nercwys Community Council, villagers collected more than 20 bin bags crammed full of litter and rubbish from roadsides and verges.
Organiser and Nercwys resident Caroline Dawson says she was delighted with the volume of rubbish collected.
She said: “Considering we only did a litter pick six months ago I’m really pleased we collected so much.
"We did cover a wider area and did some roads surrounding the village, it’s a great result and well done to everyone who braved the rain to take part.
“It’s amazing what was found. We had several McDonalds free toy gifts which were unopened, old car headlights, wire and countless plastic bottles and fast food wrappings.”
She added: “Thanks to Nercwys Community Council who provided the new fluorescent jackets and litter pickers. We intend to keep these events going and look forward to seeing even more villagers out supporting the next village litter pick.”
