RESIDENTS of Connah’s Quay are being asked to share their memories of the town.

The Our Back Yard Project is developing an i-beacon digital trail for the area and need as many people to contribute with their memories and photos.

The trail will include many areas of the town, looking at the industrial past, the natural environment and its heritage.

Linking the town with the estuary and highlighting open spaces such as Wepre Park, Central Park, Princess Park and Golftyn Park, it will also become part of the North East Wales app, available to download from the App Store or Google Play.

The Project, together with the Quay Waterman’s Association and Connah’s Quay Town Council, will be working with schools and communities to create the app.

Drop in sessions for people to share their memories and photos and learn more about the project are being held at Connah’s Quay Library on Tuesday, November 27 at 11am – 1pm at Wepre Park Visitor Centre and Tuesday, December 4 11am – 2pm.

Our Back Yard is facilitated by Groundwork North Wales working in partnership with Flintshire County Council and Connah’s Quay town council and is funded but the Big Lottery Create Your Space Fund.
