Wrexham's Christmas tree has been delivered to Queens Square ahead of the lights switch on this week.

The town centre lights will be switched on at an event organised by Rotary Club of Wrexham Glyndwr and presented by Heart North Wales breakfast presenters Lois and Oli.

The lights switch on event includes an array of live music by the likes of Sterophonics tribute band, The Phonics, Wrexham 5 School Choirs and Lady and the Tramps, with all the money raised from the evening being given to help Wrexham's homeless.

Wrexham Christmas light switch on is considered one of the biggest Christmas events in North Wales and 2018 is already set to be bigger and better than ever before.

Organiser Sam Foulkes said: "This will be our third year running the huge festive event.

"There will also be fairground rides provided by Simons North Wales and Cheshire Funfairs and lots of festive stalls. Come along for a fantastic free evening and help us raise much needed funds for Wrexham Homeless this Christmas."

The action packed evening of entertainment gets under way at 4pm on Thursday, with the finale being a dazzling firework display at around 8pm.
