FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a fire in Holywell during the early hours of this morning.

A spokesman for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they received the call at 12.40am to reports of a property on fire at Mostyn Road, Greenfield.

Crews from Flint and Holywell arrived at the scene and used two hose reel jets, two thermal image cameras and four breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.

The property suffered 30 per cent fire damage to the ground floor and 100 per cent smoke damage.

Nobody was injured and it is not yet known what caused the fire.

The service has reopened the road after previously closing it to deal with the incident.
