POLICE in Chester are looking to reunite gold jewellery discovered in a park with its owners.

At 11.25am on Friday, September 28, officers stopped a Ford Transit van with three men inside on Vicars Lane in Chester.

During the stop, one of the passengers was seen to get out of the vehicle and throw a carrier bag into Grosvenor Park. Officers searching the area recovered a bag which contained gold jewellery.

Three men aged 22, 26 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been released under investigation.

Detective Constable Keith Campbell, of Chester Beat Initiative Team, said: "As part of our investigation we want to identify who the jewellery belongs to, whether any offences have been committed and to reunite it with its owners.

"The jewellery could be from almost anywhere in the UK therefore I would encourage people to show the photos of the jewellery to their friends and family and contact us on 101."
