WITNESSES are sought after an elderly lady's home was broken into in Upton and jewellery stolen.

Between 5pm on Friday, November 9 and 6pm on Sunday, November 11 offenders broke into an elderly lady's house on Upton Park while it was unoccupied.

The burglars then stole jewellery and cash from the house before they left the scene.

Detective Constable Gareth Yates, of Chester BIT (Beat Initiative Team), said: "Having your home broken into can have a devastating impact on the victim and can make them lose their sense of safety and security.

"While we are doing everything we can to find those responsible I am appealing to the local community to come forward if they noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the Wealstone Lane or Upton Park area.

"I would also ask people to cast their minds back to whether they saw a black Jaguar parked on the pavement on Wealstone Lane near Neston Drive at around 2pm on November 10.

"I'd be keen to hear for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward by calling 101."
