A CAR has been stolen following a burglary at a house in Buckley.

Thieves forced their way in to a property on Church Road before taking a Blue Ford Focus during the early hours of Saturday.

The burglars smashed the glass of the house's conservatory, before unlocking the door and leaving with the keys to the Ford Focus.

Despite it likely to have been changed, the car's registration number is DK10 YHF.

James Shone, whose car was stolen, said: ''My wife Patricia woke up at half 5 and saw the car wasn't in the driveway. She asked me if I'd moved it last night and that's when the alarm bells started ringing.

''She went downstairs and saw there were draws in the kitchen and living room open, before seeing the smashed glass in the conservatory, we knew then that we'd been burgled.

''A friend of ours saw two men hanging around near our house at about 2.30, and the vehicle was pictured going towards Wrexham at 3.30, so it was prpbably between those times that they got in. It just goes to show that locking doors perhaps isn't always enough, sometimes you need to do more to quell thieves.''

A North Wales Police spokesman said: ''We were received a call at 5.48am on Saturday of reports of a break in and the theft of a car.

''Anyone with information relating to this incident can call 101 quoting reference number W160453.''
