THREE people were rushed to hospital following a collision which shut a major road for two hours.

Emergency services were called to the A494 in Mold after several vehicles collided at around 5.30pm on Monday.

Police shut the road between the Wylfa roundabout and the New Brighton roundabout.

Three people were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital to be treated but the extent of their injuries is not known.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Monday at 5.35pm to reports of an incident on the A494 at Mold.

''We responded with three emergency ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an advanced paramedic practitioner Vehicle. Three patients were conveyed to the Countess of Chester Hospital.''
