WREXHAM AFC players, staff and supporters held a minute's silence to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Racecourse Ground fell silent before the kick-off to the Reds' 3-1 win over Gateshead on Saturday as both teams came together in the centre circle, as a mark of respect ahead of Remembrance Day.

The silence was impeccably observed by the 4,421 crowd, with 42 travelling fans from Gateshead, who paid tribute to all those who have lost their lives serving their country.

This fixture was chosen to observe the silence as the Reds' home game closest to Remembrance Day, next Sunday.

The Reds will be in action on Remembrance Day, when they will be playing away to Weston-Super-Mare in the First Round proper of the FA Cup.
