LLANGEFNI Town eased into the FAW Trophy fourth round with a resounding 6-0 home thrashing of Penycae.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One leaders have yet to taste defeat this season after a memorable start to the campaign, and they made light work of their weekend opposition to progress.

Prolific forward Kev Lloyd got the ball rolling with the opener after 36 minutes with a deft finish, and Callum Mcminimee doubled their advantage just before the break with a thumping effort from 20 yards.

Liam Morris added a third after the interval when he prodded home from close range after a James Saxon strike rattled the crossbar, and Morris went from scorer to provider soon after when he teed up Lloyd for his second of the afternoon.

There was still time for Chris Roberts’ side to rub salt into the visitors’ wounds, with Mcminimee helping himself to his brace and former Caernarfon Town striker Lloyd completing his hat-trick late on to round off the scoring.

There was no such for Y Felinheli, who fell to a heavy 7-2 defeat at Brymbo to bow out of the competition, with Llanberis falling to a 2-1 extra time reverse at Pwllheli.

Aaron Hughes fired in a treble for Llanrug United in their 6-1 success at Lex XI, and Nantlle Vale secured a penalty shootout victory at Greenfield to progress.

Bodedern Athletic also booked their place in the draw with a 6-0 win over Llandyrnog United, with David Ricky Jones and Aidan Clark hitting a brace apiece.
