LLANRWST United picked up their best Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One win of the season to date thanks to a 5-0 home rout over Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

The Rwsters were at their ruthless best to come away with all three points to lift them into fifth position in the standings, and they went ahead after 20 minutes when Aaron Jones rounded off a fine team move.

After the break saw their dominance rewarded with a second on 59 minutes that came courtesy of Elliot Llewelyn, and United all-but wrapped up the points when Steve Whiteley netted a third with 76 gone.

There was still time for the home side to rub salt into the visitors’ wounds, and they completed the scoring late on through Callum Parry and Jones hitting the target in quick succession in the final four minutes.

Llandudno Junction were denied a morale boosting victory in the closing stages of their 1-1 home draw with Penrhyndeudraeth.

An own goal after 37 minutes put the basement dwellers in the ascendancy, but the Railwaymen were made to pay for a lack of concentration on 72 minutes when George Southern finished well to ensure both sides emerged from the game with a share of the spoils.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix extended their recent positive run of Division Two results with a 1-1 home draw against Aberffraw.

The visitors opened the scoring a minute before the break through Nathan Moore, but veteran striker and recent signing Mike Lundstram notched his first goal for the club on the hour mark to secure a point.

A brace from Carl Roberts was the highlight of Mochdre Sports’ 3-1 victory at Amlwch Town, and Glan Conwy pulled off a major upset to advance in the FAW Trophy with a 3-2 extra time triumph over Llandudno Albion.

The tense third round clash was brought to life in the second period, with Ricky Jones’ superb effort from distance taking a deflection before crossing the visitors’ line.

This provoked a strong response from the visitors, who managed to notch three goals following the setback to put them in complete control of the tie, with a brace from Jordan Phillips and a solitary Jamie Jones finish doing the damage.

Calum Jones made a fight of things in stoppage time to reduce the arrears, but it was too late to alter the overall outcome.
