ST ASAPH City Reserves continued their excellent start to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One season with a 4-2 win over Llysfaen.

The Saints secured a comfortable triumph on home soil thanks to another accomplished display, and they took control of the contest with two goals in quick succession on 29 and 33 minutes from Luca Quereci and Paul Jones.

After the break saw the away side get themselves back into the game thanks to a well-taken Jordan Davies effort on 55 minutes, only for the hosts to restore their two-goal cushion on the hour mark through Pat Mahmeti.

They sealed the points on 82 minutes when Ste Falvey found the target after some neat build-up play, and despite Ed Haley netting another consolation for the visitors it was not enough for them to salvage something from the encounter.

Dan Williams’ stoppage time strike rescued a dramatic point for Henllan at promotion rivals Y Glannau, with Matty Luke netting for the home side in a 1-1 stalemate.

Betws-y-Coed piled more misery on basement dwellers Denbigh Development courtesy of a 4-2 home victory, with Ben Williams firing in a hat-trick during an outstanding individual display.

In the R.E.M. Jones Cup first round, Luke Jones was the star of the show as Penrhyn Bay Dragons progressed to the next stage with a convincing 6-1 win over Rhuddlan Town Reserves.

The prolific forward was in scintillating form and managed to help himself to five goals during the rout, with Jake Carey also finding the target in the second period.
